​​Daoud Tyler-Ameen is a features editor at NPR Music, where he assigns and edits essays, interviews and reporting on contemporary music and culture. He is also a writer and broadcaster, creating stories and conversations about how art and performance help people figure out who they are, or would like to be. For love, he makes songs as Art Sorority, and played drums in the power-pop band Bad Moves from 2015 to 2025. He is a born-and-bred New Yorker living in Washington, D.C.
